Doll bookends

The basic range soon featured new products such as the book ends. The special edition pictured below features a boy who has thrown his book down in a rage at one end and a dutiful daughter in the arms of her mother at the other, reputedly based on scenes from Ann's family home in Loughton, Essex, UK, where she and Hugh lived with their three daughters and two sons. The boy is believed to be William, who was known for his copious hair, and the daughter Alice.
