THE MATERIALS
All purpose adhesive
PVA glue (diluted 3:1 with water)
Fine line permanent pen
Felt-tipped pen, pink
Needle: Sharps no9
Tapestry needle
Scissors (must be sharp)
Varnish or clear nail polish
Sandpaper
Wooden peg
Wooden bead
Match stick
Plain cotton lawn
Patterned cotton lawn
Lace, narrow and wide
Ribbon
Soft embroidery thread
Fine mesh
Cotton wool
Strong sewing thread
Lavender seeds
Felt - pastel colour
STEP ONE
Sandpaper the head of the peg and seal with the diluted PVA glue to ensure that the ink does not blotch. Draw the face using fine liner and felt tip, then varnish
Stitch the wig into the mesh using embroidery thread then trim the mesh, turn in at the parting and glue onto the head
Cut out the drawers using dimensions 12cm x 6cm and stitch as shown in the picture
Put onto doll, fill with lavender seeds and glue at waist and ankles and add lace trim.
STEP TWO
Cut two arms 4x4cm fabric
Shape
Stitch lace on righthand side, leaving thread free to gather later
Stitch sleeve-turn
Stuff with cotton wool, put in felt hand shape
Draw thread and glue.
STEP THREE
Cut dress from patterned fabric 11cm x 10cm
Glue the hem, lace and ribbon, and create the back seam
Gather at neck and glue to peg
Gather at waist and add wide ribbon
Glue narrow ribbon over waist gathers
Add hanging ribbon at rear
Tie bow and glue down tails and ears of bow
Stitch on arms.
STEP FOUR
Cut hat out of a 4x4cm piece of fabric
Shape into a circle
Stitch lace onto righthand side
Turn, stuff and gather
Glue onto head
STEP FIVE
Make baby out of bead, matchstick, lace, fabric
Glue into place between mother's arms.
